Guess what?!
I FINALLY put my Christmas decorations away, well took them down... I know... February right? I'm terrible. I just loved how cozy and full my house looked with them all up. Once they were gone, I realized I should turn over a new leaf and try throwing up a few Valentine's decorations. I've never decorated for holidays...
I've used my large framed piece of fabric to display a few festive printables and cards during Christmas and thought it would be perfect as my new little place to decorate for holidays.

I needed some garland though and came up with this little idea and I LOVE it! Basically because I, like the rest of the world, have a little crush on super simple whimsical garlands.
Supplies
Patterened paper cut to 3"x6" rectangles (I used some scrapbook paper...)
Ribbon
Glue Stick
Scissors
Instructions
Take one of the pieces of paper and fold it in half vertically... you know... hamburger style.
Then fold it in half again horizontally... hot dog style...
Hold the folded paper with the first fold at the top and the second fold to the right (if you are right handed like me.) Before you begin cutting your heart, be sure to NOT cut the entire top fold off. You want to cut half the rounded section of the heart... leave a section of the fold... and then continue cutting out the rest of the heart.
Once you have cut out your heart, open it up and make sure that your two hearts are connected at the top.
Continue cutting hearts just like this until you have enough to cover the length of garland you are making. You can even use the first heart as a template for the rest of them so all your hearts will be the same size. Brilliant right?? I do love some uniformity every once in awhile...
When all your hearts are cut out... admire your handy work. Don't they just look so festive, all the patterns and pinky red colors?? Love it!
Now... time to assemble the garland. Take your heart and slide it onto the ribbon so the ribbon is sandwiched between the two connecting hearts at the top.
Apply some glue to the interior of the hearts and press!
Ta-da! The heart is now attached to the ribbon! Keep adding the rest of the hearts spaced however you please until you have reached the end of your ribbon! Be sure to leave yourself a little tail on each end of the garland so you can hang it.
So basically I'm in love with the way this garland turned out. Now I'm not going to want to take my Valentine's decorations down...
What do you think? Easy peasy right? You could make the entire thing during one movie without any special equipment! My favorite kind of projects...
