Do you remember that mixed paper journal that I made a few weeks ago and gushed and gushed over? I made something out of it!! Yay!! I made a decision... haha (I'm patting myself on the back as we speak, decisions are hard sometimes!)
I decided to make a little book with pictures of our family for Christopher to have. I gathered pictures of each member of our family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins along with a little information about each person, birthday, hair color, eye color, favorite ice cream and color. I designed a little card for each person with their picture and assembled it all together in the book.
Each person got a spread with two facing pages for their picture and information. Everything was glued then accented and detailed with (you knew it had to be coming!) washi tape, tabs cut from some file folders, and stitching with the sewing machine. It turned into a little mini family scrapbook just for my kiddos and I LOVE it!!
I am so pleased with it, I just want to look at it over and over again. Now I'm scared to give it to Christopher because I know he will just tear it to bits!! I think this might be a church book. You know, the book that goes with us to church and is pulled out when were all at our wits end. The book that he can only read when he's sitting right with me, at least until he's a little older and understands the "no ripping books" thing.
How do you think it turned out? I want to make more of these little gems, I won't lie! I think I'm going to make one of our vacation this summer to Prince Edward Island using all the ephemera I collected.
The following fonts were used for the bio cards.
Bebas Neue
Geo Sans Light
Jellyka Saint Andrews Queen

DeleteLove it! Saw it on pinterest and it is SO STINKIN' CUTE! What fonts did you use for your cards? They turned out fab!
ReplyDeleteOoh thank you!! The fonts... I used Bebas Neue, Jellyka Saint-Andrew's Queen (the script font), and Helvetica Neue. Bebas and Jellyka are both available as a free download from dafont.com and Helvetica comes standard on Mac computers. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
DeleteOH. MY. GOSH. This is amazing! I was just having a conversation with my mom today and she was saying how she doesn't want Bentley to forget what she looks like. I think this just may be the perfect solution! Granted, mine will never look as cute as this. But thank you for the inspiration!
