52 Things to Remember...

My 5th anniversary was a couple weeks ago, as I shared with you, and for my anniversary, I wanted to give my husband something special... I had found this fabulous idea but the practical side of me keep thinking... there is no function for that though. I don't know if I can handle that.

So... 52 Things to Remember was born!

I came up with a list of 52 different events that have happened during our relationship together, made a set of cards, and took them with me on our date the night of our anniversary. Talk about a fabulous conversation starter! We had so much fun reminiscing about all of our times together... talking about what I remember compared to what the husband remembers. What a blast!

Here's what I did...

Begin by printing your list formatted so you can cut it out and fit it onto a regular sized playing card. Each of my list items were on a 1-1/2" x 2" rectangle.

Once they are printed, you will want to cut each one out.

To glue them onto the cards, there are lots and lots of glue options. I used spray mount because I like the speed however, sometimes it leaves a yucky residue behind.

After they are all glued, punch holes into one of the cards where you would like the book rings.

You will then use this card as a template for the rest of the cards. This will help you to make sure that all the holes are in the same place and the cards all line up!

Put all the cards in order and onto the book ring...and ta-da! Fabulous conversation starter...

Husband and I decided that night that we are going to take each of the 52 things and write our memories down in a journal, his and mine side by side, as a keepsake for our children. How fun will it be twenty years from now for our children to be able to read what their parents remember about the very first time they met? or what they remember about being engaged? or what they remember about their first Valentine's Day together?

I took the 52 different things and put them onto a 3x5 card and printed them out so that we could write directly onto them. What do you think?

I am very very excited to continue filling out each event with the husband!! It is going to be so much fun even for us to go back and look at years down the road...

So...It is fun to come up with a personalized list for you and your hunny... but I thought I would share the file for the printable 3x5 write-on cards! They're all ready for you to print, cut-out, and fill out!!

Click HERE to open the file. Then select "File" from the menu bar at the top of the page that opens and "Download." The file will start to download onto your computer and it's yours!! Enjoy!!!

I would love to hear from anyone who tries their hand at using them... Let me know what you think!

So generous of you to share your template.
I just have to figure out how to change a few questions, as hubby and I didn't have a wedding as we eloped ;)

  10. I'm getting married in less than a month, and while my fiancee and I couldn't fill out all 52 of the cards, I could have some of it done, and we could fill out the rest together! Thanks for the great gift idea!

  14. I love this idea. I might do mine in a journal. I will just do as many as I can and then keep adding important events as time goes on. I love the idea of having both people write what they thought about something in the same book. Thank you!

  15. So I've seen a few different versions of this, mostly the "52 things I love about you" and I have to say that I like yours best! It's more interactive and you're right, definitely serves a better purpose. Miguel isn't really a "keep sake" kinda guy so this makes it more usable for me :) Thanks for your creativity!! Happy 5 years!! Us too last week :)
